Tishomingo State Park

Tishomingo State Park is located 2 miles to the southeast of Tishomingo off Mississippi Highway 2 and at Milepost 304 on the Natchez Trace Parkway. The park is unique among Mississippi State Parks with glacier deposited rock formations and plants that grow no where else in the state. The park has a rich history with its main buildings and a swinging bridge across Bear Creek constructed by the Works Progress Administration as a part of Roosevelt's New Deal. Today the park has family and group cabins, camper hookups, and a large lodge. Campers can swim, fish Haynes Lake, canoe Bear Creek, hike miles of trails, and rock climb. The park also maintains a disc golf course and areas suitable for baseball, softball, and volleyball.

Tishomingo has a 62-site campground located along the shores of Haynes Lake. Recreational vehicles up to 32 feet can be accommodated. The modern heavily wooded sites include paved pads, water and electrical hookups, picnic tables and a fire ring. A dump station, flush toilets, and showers are also available. There are additional accommodations for tent camping adjacent to the RV park.

Tennessee Tombigbee Waterway and Bay Springs Lock and Dam

The Tennessee Tombigbee and Bay Springs Dam and Lake lis just to the West of Tishomingo reached by Mississippi Highway 30 and Highway 4. Bay Springs Lake is a fresh water lake created by a Tennessee Tombigbee Waterway dam. Bass fishermen from all over the Southeast fish its waters. The Tennessee Tombigbee Waterway is the inland waterway that links the Tennessee River and the Gulf of Mexico, and features a Divide Cut that is deeper than the Panama Canal. Piney Grove Campground is located on the west side of Bay Springs Lake and operated by the Corps of Engineers.
